Security Officer

***Please note that this position is onsite and therefore requires the ability to commute to Covenant Hospital Plainview in Plainview, TX.***

Under general supervision, patrols assigned areas of the CHS campus to deter, detect and investigate crime and/or any suspicious activity, which could cause harm to individuals or property. Provides information and assistance to patients, employees and visitors. Writes detailed incident reports, and various other reports as required. Takes and maintains control of disruptive individuals for arrest by Lubbock Police Department, when situations warrant this action. Primary emphasis is placed on the safety of the individual and loss prevention. After completion of classroom and practical instructions, will at all times while on duty carry Department issued handcuffs and non-lethal device.

Required Qualifications:

• Within 30 days of hire: Texas Non-Commissioned Security Officer - Texas Private Security Board - Texas Department of Public Safety, Or
• Within 30 days of hire: Texas Private Security Registration - Texas Private Security Board - Texas Department of Public Safety
• Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
• 1 year of Security, Law Enforcement, Military, or Police experience, preferably within a hospital or campus environment.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
