Robot Technician IRobot Technician I is an entry-level, on-site, hands-on role responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly of robotic systems and tooling at KC Robotics and at customer sites. Working under the direction of senior technicians and engineers, the Robot Technician I learns the fundamentals of robotic integration; including powering, backing up, and teaching robots. While building the technical foundation required to advance to Robot Technician II and III.Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:Perform mechanical assembly of robotic systems, tooling, fixtures, and subassemblies from drawings and work instructions.Perform electrical assembly and wiring of robotic systems and tooling under guidance, building toward panel-build capability.Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings to lay out and build systems assemblies and subassemblies.Safely operate and maintain hand and power tools, electric meters, forklifts, and cranes (drill, punch, crimpers, solder, etc.)Power on, back up, and restore industrial robots; teach robot Tool Center Point (TCP) and base/user frames.Integrate and check out robot I/O; set up and teach robot safety zones and safe operating spaces.Perform preventative maintenance on robots and peripheral equipment per OEM and KCR standards.Assist with electromechanical installation of robotic systems at customer sites, including rigging, anchoring, and reconnection of cables and pneumatics.Attend OEM robot classes to gain experience across various robotic equipment (FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa Motoman, KUKA).Assist senior Robot Technicians on field-service and build assignments; follow all KCR and customer safety policies while on-site.Interact with computers to enter data, process information, and upload/download programs.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in Robotic Automation, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology, preferred.Mechanical and electrical aptitude with a strong safety orientation.Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings.Knowledge of machines, tools, and electronics (wiring, drilling, tapping, etc.)Understanding of A3/RIA safety standards, OSHA standards, ISO 10218, and NFPA 79 preferred (or willingness to learn).Ability to conform to shifting priorities and tight timeline demands; strong work ethic in both team and independent settings.Willing to travel (up to 35% with overnight stays) and hold a valid driver's license in good standing.Requires US Citizenship (ITAR compliance)
