Reports To: Plant Manager

Shift (day, night, or flexible): day, with some variability to overlap with night shift

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a Maintenance Manager who can lead the day-to-day maintenance function, support and develop maintenance technicians, and keep our equipment, building, and property running safely and reliably. This role requires strong hands-on maintenance knowledge, good judgment, and the ability to organize work, set priorities, and build a more proactive maintenance program in a manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with the production team and will report to the Plant Manager.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance, repair, installation, and improvement work for equipment, machinery, and facility systems
  • Maintain property including but not limited to offices, production areas, public areas, and equipment through development and implementation of preventive maintenance program
  • Ensure all maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely, cost-effective manner and according to all specifications
  • Support the safe and reliable operation of facility systems, including refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, emergency generators, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems
  • Interface with appropriate staff/managers to receive information regarding maintenance needs; ensures timely response to requests
  • Interface with appropriate staff/managers, engineers, and outside contractors to review and/or develop renovation and new construction plans, coordinates communication with and work of outside contractors
  • Ensure all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies corrected; ensure property is following all safety and sanitation policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Supervise and assist staff in the maintenance and repair of equipment, buildings, and property as needed
  • Possess and maintain thorough knowledge of city and state building codes, OSHA requirements, and ADA laws; implement OSHA and ADA guidelines and programs
  • Possess and maintain thorough knowledge of ventilation/air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other generally accepted maintenance skills
  • Contribute to capital planning and supervise the installation of approved capital equipment
  • Hire, train, supervise, motivate, and develop maintenance staff; manage schedules and workflow.
  • Assign duties and monitor quality of work; ensure staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and safety regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university, OR three to five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
    • Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) preferred
  • Computer skills required:
    • HR/People management software
    • Spreadsheet Software (Excel/Google Sheets)
    • Contract Management systems
    • Inventory Software
    • Order Processing systems
    • Project Management software
    • Word Processing software (Word/Google Docs)
    • Electronic Mail Software (Google)
    • Presentation software (PowerPoint/Google Slides)
    • MMS (Maintenance Management Software)

Desired Skills

  • Three to five years of maintenance management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Working knowledge of facilities, machines, and equipment.
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
  • Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Aptitude in robotics and automation (preferred)
  • Experience in plant design (preferred)
