Principal Hardware Systems Engineer

Salary: $217,000 - 326,000 per year Requirements:

• Deep architectural knowledge of high-density x86 enterprise servers, rack-scale power delivery and power-tree modeling, transient analysis, dynamic thermal management, NVMe-oF and CXL storage protocols, and multi-node rack architectures.
• Extensive hands-on experience with complex system bring-up, high-speed signal-integrity validation for PCIe Gen 5/6 and other high-frequency buses, and hardware failure analysis using lab instruments and telemetry such as BMC, Redfish, IPMI, PCIe analyzers, and SMART logs.
• A proven record of building scalable, programmatic validation pipelines using Python or Shell and rigorous stress-testing methods for enterprise L10/L11 infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to configure, validate, and debug rack-scale connectivity across servers, high-speed switches, active optics, and fabric topologies. Familiarity with leaf-spine networks, RoCE, RDMA, InfiniBand, and BGP is highly desirable.
• Experience leading and strengthening multidisciplinary engineering teams, translating business goals into technical roadmaps, mentoring senior engineers, and influencing vendor engineering organizations.

• Own the multigenerational end-to-end hardware roadmap for enterprise storage platforms, making architectural trade-offs across compute, memory, DPUs, high-speed fabrics, and storage media to improve density, performance per watt, and total cost of ownership.
• Lead system-level hardware design reviews with global OEM, ODM, and JDM partners, covering schematics, layouts, power-tree design, and thermal topology; establish engineering requirements, standards, and design guidelines.
• Develop hardware quality frameworks, validation strategies, and diagnostic approaches across parametric, functional, electrical, and full-stack software and firmware integration. Define automated telemetry, stress testing, and release criteria for tier-0 production.
• Act as the final technical escalation point for systemic hardware, signal-integrity, and storage-node failures, coordinating cross-functional teams and silicon vendors on root-cause analysis and lasting corrective actions.
• Guide the architecture and adoption of automated Python/Bash test frameworks for hardware validation and L10 device- and L11 rack-level stability, improving coverage and reducing test cycle time.
• Work with engineering executives, software architects, platform design, and network infrastructure teams to coordinate hardware, firmware, and software co-design, and advance reliability, availability, and serviceability.
