Talascend is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Urbana, Ohio .


Overview


This role involves managing and executing strategic procurement activities within the organization, overseeing complex projects, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize supply chain processes and cost-effectiveness.


Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with organizational goals, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and supplier diversity.
• Oversee and manage complex procurement projects from initiation to completion, including supplier selection, negotiations, contract management, and delivery.
• Provide guidance to a team of procurement professionals to ensure successful project execution.
• Foster and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure a reliable and responsive supply chain.
• Ensure procurement activities adhere to relevant regulations, compliance standards, and internal policies, maintaining organized records.
• Establish and enforce quality control standards in procurement processes, conducting regular inspections and assessments.
• Leverage technology solutions, such as procurement software and analytics, to enhance processes, monitoring, and reporting.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in procurement and project management.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex procurement projects.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement strategies, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
