Medical Records Specialist About the Role: Join the esteemed team at Serenity Estates of Freeport as a Medical Records Specialist in a rewarding and challenging environment that prioritizes patient care and confidentiality. As a vital member of our medical records team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of patient medical records. Responsibilities: Maintain and supervise the organization of electronic and paper-based medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry best practices. Accurately process, retrieve, and update patient medical records in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other medical staff, to obtain and verify accurate patient information. Maintain and improve records management systems, processes, and procedures to ensure optimal efficiency and patient care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to medical records management. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Records experience or certification (e.g., RHIT, CCMA) highly desirable. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
