Technical Analyst

Job Description Emergent Method is seeking qualified candidates to fill an analyst position on a large-scale IT system implementation project. The selected individual will lead analytics maintenance and enhancement activities, working with client personnel and the project team. The individual will serve as the team lead for a project Sprint team, preparing, developing, and refining future sprints, while reporting on the current team status in broader meetings. This is a full-time position supporting ongoing project operations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The ideal candidate is flexible, able to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, confident in handling a wide range of tasks, utilizing problem-solving skills, and willing to embrace the challenges of complex system implementation projects. Candidates should have relevant technical backgrounds and experience, along with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leading daily internal calls focused on solution assessment, cross-team dependencies, and internal touchpoints. Coordinating between onshore and offshore teams on solutions, progress, upcoming refinement items, and current Sprint items. Attending daily stand-ups and supporting the team in providing and communicating necessary information. Presenting enhancements and bugs to develop a common understanding for solution sizing. Working with business analysts to develop user stories, gather requirements, and define acceptance criteria. Collaborating with development team members to build, validate, and enhance dashboards, fix bugs, or manage ETL jobs. Creating dashboard mock-ups or prototypes in Tableau for stakeholder review. Working with client stakeholders to define requirements for reports or dashboards. Creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting sprint planning and backlog refinement. Presenting user stories during backlog meetings. Collaborating with the product owner on questions and prioritization. Discussing upcoming enhancements and defects with technical analysts across teams. Updating documentation and providing necessary reporting. Troubleshooting issues, working cross-team to develop solutions, and providing technical support. Investigating root causes of client and system issues and proposing solutions. Collaborating effectively with project team members. Creating and delivering training content and user support for dashboards. Preparing and facilitating user acceptance testing (UAT) sessions. Developing, validating, and delivering ad hoc reports. Utilizing strong communication skills to present data, trends, insights, and recommendations. Minimum qualifications and expectations: Bachelor’s degree in information sciences, computer science, management information systems, or a related technical field (experience may be considered in lieu of degree). 3-5 years of experience designing and developing complex analytics solutions, with at least one year in a lead role. Experience with Tableau or similar visualization tools required. Mid-level experience developing and tuning SQL queries required. Experience testing and validating reports and dashboards, including documentation. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts. Experience working independently with stakeholders to gather requirements and support UAT. Strong technical skills including SQL, database understanding, and web applications. Ability to translate technical information into functional questions/solutions. Experience with Jira or similar tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Quick learner, adaptable to changing directions. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Self-motivated and deadline-oriented. Team player, fostering a cooperative environment. Qualifications: Experience in Health and Human Services or Medicaid industry is a plus. Experience with Agile methodologies. Experience with integrated eligibility systems and enterprise applications.
