Architectural Assistant (Growth Path to Designer) H&H Builders Denver, CO | Full-Time H&H Builders is an award winning, high-end, design build, construction firm focused on delivering thoughtful, well-executed residential remodels across the Denver market. We are hiring an Architectural Assistant to immediately support our design and preconstruction pipeline. Who can grow into a key contributor on our design team. This role is critical. You will help eliminate bottlenecks in permit and construction documentation, support our lead designer during an upcoming maternity leave, and play a central role in how projects move from concept to construction. If you thrive in technical drawing, precision, and production-and want a clear path into higher-level design responsibility-this is a strong long-term opportunity. What You'll Do Translate concept designs (1-2 sheets) into complete permit and construction drawing sets (10-15+ pages) Prepare accurate, code-conscious architectural plans for City of Denver submittals Coordinate structural sheets with engineering partners Execute detailed, high-accuracy construction plans (low creativity, high precision) Collaborate closely with: Design Lead (creative direction & oversight) Preconstruction Team (redlines, site plans, as-builts) Leadership (design intent, constructability, budget alignment) Growth & Advancement Take ownership of larger portions of the design and production workflow Develop toward handling full project drawing packages independently Expand into design contribution and client-facing work (based on capability) Potential to participate in sales/design-build conversations (optional, performance-based) What Success Looks Like Permit sets are completed accurately, efficiently, and with minimal revisions Projects move through preconstruction faster and with fewer bottlenecks The design team operates with greater capacity and less dependency on one individual You grow into a trusted, go-to resource for production drawings and design support What You Bring Experience 3-5+ years in architectural drafting, design, or production Strong background in residential construction (custom homes or remodeling preferred) Experience producing full permit/construction drawing sets Ability to think in terms of the entire home-not just isolated spaces Technical Skills Proficiency in Vectorworks (preferred) or strong experience in AutoCAD or similar architectural CAD software Ability to quickly learn new software platforms (Vectorworks ramp-up expected within ~2 weeks) Strong understanding of construction documentation and detailing standards Core Competencies High attention to detail and accuracy Strong spatial and systems thinking (how the whole house comes together) Ability to interpret redlines and execute efficiently Coachable, adaptable, and growth-oriented Clear communicator and team collaborator Education (Preferred, Not Required) Degree or coursework in: Architecture Architectural Engineering Civil Engineering (structural emphasis) Equivalent hands-on residential design experience is equally valued Compensation & Growth Base Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 Performance Growth Path: Clear trajectory into the Architectural Designer role Optional Sales (Future Opportunity): Commission structure tied to project revenue (e.g., ~5% of contract value at target margins) Potential to earn $50K-$100K+ in additional income based on performance Why Join H&H Builders Be part of a tight-knit, high-performing team with strong design standards Step into a role with immediate impact and long-term growth Gain exposure to both design and construction execution Work directly with leadership and influence how projects are delivered Opportunity to grow into a hybrid design + production (and potentially sales) role Who This Role Is Perfect For A strong architectural drafter/designer who enjoys the technical side of building Someone who wants to move beyond "just drafting" into ownership and growth A professional who values clarity, structure, and execution-but also wants a path forward #J-18808-Ljbffr H&H Builders
