If you're ready to roll up your sleeves, treat the business as if it is your own and add value accordingly, come see why we're Calumet Proud!Purpose:The Process Engineer will provide technical expertise in all aspects of process design and processing techniques issued by the refinery to ensure the following:Conduct daily process unit monitoring and alarm rationalizationOptimize production to assure lowest cost with maximum outputImplement safety, environmental consciousness, and reliability into day-to-day decision makingAdopt principles of continuous improvement to drive out waste and inefficiency and enhance profitabilityKey Objectives And Responsibilities:Conducts daily unit health monitoring consistent with Calumet ExpectationsPerforms engineering calculations (i.e., mass balances, energy balances, conversion calculations) to optimize equipment design and assure product qualityGathers, analyzes, and interprets unit test data to assist in troubleshooting operating problems and developing revised process designsGenerates and maintains informational database(s) on pertinent process variables for troubleshooting and optimizationMakes recommendations to improve unit yield and/or optimize energy consumptionInitiates and justifies new projects, additional monitoring and improvements to the unitCollaborates with appropriate subject matter experts, and manager concerning unusual problems and developmentsDevelops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects within his/her responsibility areaAssesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products, or equipmentMaintains awareness of all Safety, Health, and Environmental issues that impact the refinery and personnelEvaluates the economic feasibility of projects assigned and provides Process Engineering services during engineering, construction, and start-up of projectsProvides Process Engineering support during turnaroundsProcess Engineers support a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation. As such, they must be prepared to work whatever hours needed to maintain a safe, environmentally sound efficient operation.Provide additional daily supervisory coverage as neededRequired Education/Experiences:Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical EngineeringProficient user of MS Office SuiteCompetencies:Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organizationAbility to demonstrate leadership and team capabilities when necessaryDemonstration of Calumet Values – Safety, Environment & Social Responsibility, Teamwork, Ownership, Passion for Customers, and ExcellenceSalary and benefits commensurate with experience.
