Senior Staff Accountant

Denver Metro Area (Remote, 1 Day/Month Onsite in Westminster, CO)

A fast-growing technology company is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to support the Controller in managing daily accounting operations. This role bridges accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and project cost tracking, with initial ownership of AP functions that will transition into a dedicated role as the company scales. Responsibilities

• Support month-end close preparation, including bank reconciliations, credit card clearing, and journal entries
• Own accounts payable processes, including vendor onboarding, payment runs, and AP aging schedules
• Support accounts receivable activities, including invoice preparation and collections follow-up
• Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts
• Maintain sales tax, GST, and other compliance tracking schedules
• Support project and job cost tracking to ensure accurate financial data
• Maintain data accuracy across accounting systems including NetSuite and Ramp
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and support scalability
• Support special projects as requested by the Controller or executive leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required
• 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience
• NetSuite experience required, or experience with a similarly sized ERP system
• Strong experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting
• High attention to detail with strong reconciliation and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Based in the Denver metropolitan area
