Mechanic / Industrial Maintenance Technician

Pay Rate: $33.00 per hour Company: Richardson International

Position Summary

The Mechanic / Industrial Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing, production, and packaging equipment. This role supports safe, efficient operations by maintaining equipment reliability and minimizing downtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily industrial maintenance and repairs on production and packaging equipment, including extruders, dryers, conveying systems, pneumatic systems, high-speed packaging equipment, cartoners, baggers, case packers, palletizers, boilers, heaters, material handling systems, chillers, compressed air systems, and HVAC
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures involving motors, bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, and power transmission components
• Complete preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance work orders
• Work with Operations to reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support continuous improvement
• Follow all safety, food manufacturing, and plant procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Required Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED and one of the following:
  • Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance
  • Completed apprenticeship
  • Relevant military maintenance experience
  • 2+ years experience as a Mechanic, Maintenance Technician, Industrial Mechanic, or Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

Preferred Qualifications

• Maintenance experience in food manufacturing or industrial manufacturing
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
• Welding experience (MIG, TIG, stick)
• Experience with machine tools (lathes, drill presses, Bridgeport-type mills)
• Forklift, scissor lift, and articulated lift experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders
• Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, and dusty manufacturing environments
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
