Laboratory - Phlebotomist

Phlebotomist
This position requires working from 3:00 AM to 11:30 AM, rotating weekends included. Candidates must have travel experience. A valid state license from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners is mandatory. The role demands knowledge in various specimen types and techniques, including finger stick, heel stick, and various tube types. Candidates should be able to prioritize patient collections based on order requests, such as stat, timed, or routine. Understanding and adherence to safety protocols regarding hazardous materials, standard precautions, and infection control is essential. Experience in laboratory requisitions and post-venipuncture site care is important. The job also requires familiarity with dealing with emergency situations and maintaining quality assurance and controls. Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital as needed. Recent professional cancellations may be reviewed before approval for submission.
