Summary

Perform Communications and Marketing activities to support the Mission Vision and Goals of the Farmers Alliance Companies. This position requires excellent communication skills (written and verbal) comfort and skill for public speaking and superior technical skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

COMMUNICATIONS

Social Media:

  • Make regular updates to and manage any/all media identified in company social media strategy. Content to be coordinated with Communications Director.
  • Maintain activity logs for compliance.
  • Monitor and recommend adjustments to company strategy.
  • Identify & utilize media management tools as appropriate (Hootsuite etc.).

Public website management ():

  • Regular updates to News on . Content to be coordinated with Communications Director.
  • Maintain activity logs for compliance
  • Coordinate and track other updates or changes needed

Agent Portal administration ():

  • Regular updates to Recent News. Content to be coordinated with Communications Director.
  • Maintain activity logs for compliance.
  • Coordinate and track other updates or changes needed.

General Communications:

  • With the Communications Director develop informative and promotional articles/stories for agents and policyholders including all needed research. Must be appropriate for various publication outlets (print electronic video etc.).
  • Assist in designing and revising print and electronic product brochures corporate merchandise brochures and all other marketing materials.
  • Assist with corporate photography and videography including camera work script development editing and post-production needs distribution.

MARKETING

Marketing Rep responsibilities:

  • As directed by VP Marketing make frequent regular contact with identified agencies offering marketing support and direction. Train agency staff as needed assist with quotes etc. Contact is primarily by phone but will also include occasional in-person visits (travel).
  • Assist agents with quoting and submitting business (Compass) on request and proactively (contact agents & offer assistance).
  • Provide needed resources (materials training etc.) as requested by Marketing Reps.

General Marketing:

  • Assist with periodic Marketing-sponsored events (Camp FAMI Agents Council meetings Agent Meetings etc.).
  • Assist with periodic company functions (other departments) as requested (HR AEI UW/Customer Service etc.).
  • Provide backup for department expense reports user requests other administrative functions (Marketing Clerk).

Qualifications

Required Skills & Abilities

Because of the dual nature of this role the successful candidate must be an effective communicator with skills in various technologies. The preferred candidate will have experience with Compass and a demonstrated knowledge of our products. A person exhibiting a willingness to continually learn will be considered. Having the ability to write and speak clearly is a necessity. Must be a customer-focused individual with excellent communication skills. Must be highly motivated and exhibit a willingness to work with others. There is some travel required.

Must have valid Drivers License

Cognitive Skills

Strong emphasis given to the ability to effectively utilize technology including but not limited to FAMI-developed products plus the use the social media and mobile apps. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to exhibit empathy and a helpful attitude to customers (insureds and agents) as well as fellow employees. Ability to operate keyboard and Microsoft Office products. Experience with these applications/programs is preferred but not required: Word Press Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop InDesign Illustrator Rush/PremierPro). If no experience successful applicant will be expected to complete training for these. Detail oriented including adherence to document standards and meeting deadlines. Good decision-making skills. Independent worker following established goals and objectives. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and fluctuating workloads.

Education &/or Experience

Bachelors degree preferred.
