Start date is flexible. The position requires working 4 shifts of 12 hours each. The scheduled shifts are from 07:00 to 19:30 and 19:00 to 07:30. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1. Weekend work is required unless otherwise specified in the schedule. Candidates must have required certifications including ACLS and BLS. There is no call duty associated with this position. Nursing staff may float within ICU units. Please note that floating to sister hospitals is not permitted. Requests for time off during a busy holiday period may be limited. Candidates will require experience with various critical care skills. Patient population includes post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. The unit specializes in managing patients with mechanical circulatory support needs. Proficiency with management of dysrhythmias, IABP, and LVAD/RVAD is required. Candidates must have previous travel experience and a strong background in CVICU. Documentation is completed using an electronic health record system. Flexibility is necessary to accommodate unit needs. All prospective candidates must meet compliance requirements before starting. Two supervisory references are required upon submission. Modules will need to be completed prior to the start date.
