Description:
The position requires strong oncology and infusion experience.
The shift is 4x10 days from 07:00 to 17:30.
The contract length is for 13 weeks.
Responsibilities include the administration of chemotherapy, electrolytes, and blood products.
The role is connected to an oncology urgent care for add-on patients or for provider assessments.
The patient diagnoses primarily involve those requiring infusion therapy.
Floating within the specialty may be required as necessary.
Weekends will be scheduled every other weekend.
Holiday shifts will be required as scheduled.
The patient age groups served include adults and geriatrics.
Daily census is approximately 100 visits.
The unit is supported by various interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services.
Special procedures in the unit involve the administration of infusion therapies.
The role also includes managing various oncological conditions, including but not limited to leukemia, breast cancer, and prostate cancer.
Additional duties include patient and family education and support, monitoring of chemotherapy, and managing potential side effects.
Candidates must be comfortable with IV insertion and management, as well as phlebotomy skills.
Candidates should also be knowledgeable in managing central lines, ports, and urinary devices.
Overall, the position requires a high level of clinical expertise and patient-centered care.
