About the Role A privately held, multi-generational family office with a diverse real estate portfolio is seeking a seasoned Director of Accounting to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, planning, and strategic initiatives. This is a key leadership role offering broad visibility, close collaboration with ownership, and the opportunity to help shape the financial infrastructure of a growing investment platform. Responsibilities Oversee all accounting, finance, and reporting functions across the family office and its real estate entities. Direct the monthly/quarterly/annual financial close, consolidations, cash flow reporting, and performance dashboards. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes; provide clear insights and recommendations to ownership. Oversee tax planning and compliance in coordination with internal & external tax advisors (partnerships, RE entities, trusts, and UHNW individual returns). Lead treasury oversight, liquidity management, capital calls/distributions, and banking relationships. Implement and enhance internal controls, accounting systems, and financial policies to support scalable growth. Support investment underwriting, asset-level financial modeling, and due diligence on new acquisitions. Coordinate with property management, legal, and external partners to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. Build and manage a small in-house accounting team while leveraging external resources as needed. Qualifications 12+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, preferably within a real estate investment firm, family office, private equity, or institutional owner/operator. Strong technical accounting background (GAAP, real estate partnerships, consolidations, multi-entity structures). Experience overseeing tax planning with complex partnership and UHNW structures. Demonstrated success in building or upgrading finance functions, processes, and reporting systems. Strategic mindset with the ability to operate hands-on in a lean environment. Active CPA required; MBA a plus. High integrity, discretion, and proven ability to work closely with principals in a confidential, private setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
