Operations Coordinator/Dispatcher – First Shift

Location: Hazelwood, MO
Schedule: First Shift Either Sun-Thur or Wed-Sat

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team in Hazelwood, MO. This position is responsible for coordinating and scheduling drivers for pickups and deliveries, serving as a liaison between customers, drivers, vendors, and management, and ensuring efficient daily transportation operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to make quick decisions to keep operations running smoothly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Schedule drivers for freight deliveries, customer pickups, and vendor collections.
• Communicate with customers and vendors regarding shipment details, pickup and delivery times, and special requests.
• Plan and coordinate driver routes to maximize efficiency and on-time performance.
• Monitor traffic conditions and operational issues, making route adjustments as necessary.
• Prepare and maintain dispatch documentation and reports for management.
• Ensure employees, customers, and vendors have all required transportation and shipment documents.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch calls, driver assignments, route changes, delivery times, and pickup times.
• Monitor truck maintenance and repair schedules to minimize disruptions to operations.
• Log and track vendor complaints, concerns, and service issues.
• Answer incoming calls from customers, vendors, drivers, and management, providing timely assistance and support.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous dispatching, transportation, logistics, or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience working with routing, fleet management, or transportation software is a plus.
