Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) - Urgent Care – UHC Staffing

Location: Chula Vista, CA

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Saturdays only, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM (8 hours per week). Must be available for a full week of training, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Hours per Week: 8

Candidate Pay Rate: $55.26 - $38.68 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform blood draws and specimen collection from patients of all ages
Verify patient identities and ensure proper labeling of specimens
Use medical terminology to accurately document and process lab orders
Maintain a clean and safe work environment following infection control protocols
Provide compassionate care and clear communication to patients
Collaborate with urgent care team to ensure efficient patient flow

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Current California State Phlebotomy Licensure
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
1-2 years of medical laboratory experience as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (preferred)
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Proficient in medical terminology

Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

Phlebotomy techniques and best practices
Medical terminology and laboratory processes
California State Phlebotomy regulations
CPR certification
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent patient communication skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
