Loudoun Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is a 104-bed skilled nursing facility located in historic downtown Leesburg. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Dietary Manager to join our team.

The Dietary Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Dietary Department and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality nutritional services to our residents. This position works closely with nursing and other clinical departments to ensure that residents’ nutritional needs, preferences, and therapeutic diet requirements are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the daily operations of the Dietary Department in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies.

• Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, job descriptions, and performance evaluations.

• Coordinate diet changes and new diet orders with the Nursing Department and ensure menus comply with physician orders.

• Review therapeutic and regular menus to ensure nutritional and regulatory requirements are met.

• Maintain accurate dietary documentation, including progress notes, menus, assessments, and care plans.

• Interview residents and families, as appropriate, to identify food preferences, dislikes, and dietary needs.

• Ensure dietary services are incorporated into resident care plans and that staff are informed of individual dietary requirements and necessary adaptive equipment or utensils.

• Monitor food, supply, and equipment inventory and maintain appropriate stock levels.

• Ensure food preparation, storage, service, and work areas remain clean, safe, and sanitary.

• Assist with infection control practices related to food service, including sanitation and isolation procedures.

• Address resident and departmental concerns and grievances promptly and appropriately.

• Participate in facility surveys and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies.

• Assist with departmental budgeting, financial oversight, and cost control.

• Work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing and other departments to identify and address resident nutritional needs.

Qualifications

• Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification required.

• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, long-term care setting, or related healthcare environment.

• Knowledge of dietary practices, food safety, sanitation, and nutritional services in a healthcare setting.

• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing dietary services in skilled nursing facilities.

• Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively with residents, families, dietary staff, nursing personnel, and interdisciplinary teams.
