Education

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program with an A.S. degree

Experience / Qualifications

\n
• Licensed in the State of Florida to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant
\n
• American Heart Association BLS Certificatin for Health Care Providers
\n

Position Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of the Physical Therapist to carry out Physical Therapy plan of care.

• Carries out Physical Therapy Plan of Care as designed by the Physical Therapist.
\n
• Assists in the supervision of Rehab Aide personnel. 
\n
• Communicates patient progress to the Physical Therapist with regard to the Plan of Care.
\n
• Document patient care in accordance with, regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
\n
• Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.
\n
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time.  The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs., carry and lift up to 50lbs.
