Overview
Registered Nurse, Med Surg – Utica, NY. This travel temporary assignment starts August 10, 2026 and runs for 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,116 to $2,151 with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift: Nights on a 2x3 schedule. Unit type: Med surg on a hospital floor serving adult patients in a general medical-surgical setting.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients, including postoperative and nonoperative cases. Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and morbid obesity after bariatric surgery.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient status, assess changes, and adjust care plans as directed; operate IV pumps and manage NG/tube feeding devices.
- Perform accurate and timely documentation in the EMR (EPIC); chart vitals, treatments, and responses to therapy; collaborate with physicians, case management, and other health professionals.
- Manage patient safety, nutrition and mobility needs; participate in floating to other units as required by staffing.
- Facilitate discharge planning and patient education to support safe transitions of care.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license with Nursys verification; current and in good standing.
- AHA BLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years Med-Surg nursing experience; travel experience required; resume must document MS experience and travel assignments.
- EMR experience, specifically EPIC.
- RTO (request for time off) must be included at submission.
- Local rate available for candidates within 75 miles of the assignment location.
- Ability to perform duties on a night shift and work in a busy med-surg environment; floating to other units as needed.
