Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Pending licenses accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with patient ratios of 4 - Proficiency in the charting system Epic - Trauma Level I experience required Description: The Pediatric PeriAnesthesia Unit is a pediatric preoperative and postoperative unit. It provides specialized postoperative care for pediatric patients requiring overnight observation or extended recovery. The unit is designed to deliver comprehensive, family-centered care from preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery. Nurses collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgery, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver individualized care. Ongoing assessments, pain management, and discharge planning are key components of care. Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills are essential for recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition.
