As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Banking Content Management team, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities. Job responsibilitiesProvide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasksAccountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and proceduresSets and scales operating practices for enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation across multiple teams to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational outcomes; establishes measurable expectations (e.g., throughput, defect reduction, reliability) and ensures consistent validation, security, resiliency, and reuse of proven patterns.Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to drive efficiency and support capacity unlock initiatives across teams, prioritizing reuse of existing firm technology assets.Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholdersIdentifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessaryProvides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the teamDevelop and enhance content platform using Java Full Stack technologies, React, and Next.js, enabling content life cycle using headless content API across digital channels Manage team in building secure external facing applications implementing secure coding practices and efficiently us AI agents to optimize code and solve friction points Design solutions keeping modular design, performance, resiliency, scalability and other non-functional criteria in mindDesign, develop and deploy scalable cloud native applications using AWS including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS and API GatewayRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertiseExperience managing teams of technologistsAbility to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiativesExperience leading multi-team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools, including defining governance/ways of working (human-in-the-loop validation, quality gates), measuring outcomes, and ensuring secure handling of sensitive inputs/outputs.Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, resiliency/security implications, and control expectations; ability to coach managers/leads and influence leaders on safe scaling patterns.Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talentManagement experience with varying levels of Software EngineersExpert level in coding in Java Full stack, React, and Next.jsStrong hands on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS and API Gateway)Experience building secure external facing applications with secure coding practicesStrong Technical Leadership and mentoring experience with varying levels of software engineers in an Agile environment Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExperience with Content Management Systems Experience in a very large Financial Services or Banking Technology environmentChase is a leading financial services firm, helping nearly half of America’s households and small businesses achieve their financial goals through a broad range of financial products.
