Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Salem Health - Hospital
Position Type: Full Time, 40 hours/week, Non-Exempt Schedule: Rotating four 10-hour shifts with call, flexible self-scheduling Your role with us At Salem Health Hospital and Clinics, our nuclear medicine technologists play a vital role in patient diagnosis and care by combining technical expertise, compassionate patient interactions, and strict attention to safety. As a member of our collaborative imaging services team, you'll perform high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using advanced nuclear medicine technology to support our mission of delivering exceptional healthcare to our community. You'll work in a progressive, close-knit department equipped with a full range of nuclear medicine capabilities, including nuclear medicine gamma cameras, SPECT imaging, and PET/CT. Our team stays at the forefront of innovation, most recently launching Pluvicto - the newest therapy offered within our nuclear medicine program - expanding treatment options for our patients and community. This is a smaller, highly collaborative team environment where you'll work alongside fellow technologists, a lead on each shift, and a manager who comes from a nuclear medicine technologist background and truly understands the role. With an average of 4-6 patients per day, you'll stay engaged and focused while maintaining strong work-life balance and the time needed to deliver precise, high-quality imaging and patient-centered care. Our nuclear medicine technologists are highly trained professionals—each holding national certification through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board, along with a bachelor's degree. We are looking for someone who shares that same commitment to excellence—detail-oriented, safety-focused, and motivated to grow while contributing to a culture grounded in LEAN thinking and continuous improvement. At Salem Health, you'll be part of a team that is excited about the future of imaging and therapeutic services and the continued growth of nuclear medicine in our community. If you're looking for a meaningful role where you can make an impact, continue to grow your skills, and be part of an innovative and supportive imaging team. What you'll do Operate advanced Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment to perform a wide range of diagnostic procedures. Utilize PACS, medical records, and image processing systems to accurately capture, label, and document results. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following all safety guidelines, protocols, and documentation standards. Screen patients professionally for contraindications or interfering medications prior to dosing. Ensure all injections and IV procedures are performed safely and comfortably for patients, with any issues reported and documented appropriately. Perform and document daily quality control checks on equipment and report any malfunctions immediately. Collaborate closely with radiologists and clinical teams to ensure accurate, timely diagnostic reporting. Maintain strict compliance with radiation safety policies and participate in continuous improvement efforts. Support patient-centered care by tailoring communication and procedures to individual needs, ages, and conditions. Demonstrate proficiency in medication reconciliation and Omnicell operations per department protocol. Required qualifications Must be currently licensed in Nuclear Medicine with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI). Salem Health's comprehensive benefits package prioritizes your mental and physical health, financial stability, family obligations, and professional growth. Why Salem Health?
