We are looking for an experienced Engineer and/or Consultant to work in all aspects of fire protection engineering, including building code consulting, fire protection systems, and fire protection strategies.The successful applicant will have a well-rounded background in fire protection and code consulting and possess strong analytical and creative thinking skills. The role will involve many aspects of fire protection engineering with a focus on Building Code and Fire Code consulting. The position will coordinate and conduct building plan reviews, interpret the building codes, develop alternative solutions, prepare building design reports and coordinate with fire protection engineering design teams. The candidate will be responsible for the review and implementation of fire protection strategies and will coordinate on all matters with design teams and authorities having jurisdiction. Responsibilities:Perform fire and life safety code consulting tasks related to Group H-5 semiconductor facilitiesAssist with the development of alternate methods of design and/or code modification submittalsAssist with hazardous materials consulting activitiesPerform site surveysAssist with fire and life safety system inspection and testing activitiesCoordinate closely with design teams and authorities having jurisdictionContribute to complex, high-impact project deliveryMinimum RequirementsFive (5) plus years of experience in code consulting and developing performance-based strategies in a project design environment is preferredExperience in developing building code concepts and equivalencies, conducting building plan reviews, and conducting field reviews/inspectionsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture, or related fieldExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategiesAbility to work well independently and to interact with other industry professionals, associated trades, and jurisdictional authoritiRelocation Provided within the US#LI-VMJensen Hughes is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
