About the Role

The Company is in search of an Associate Vice President for Direct Support Organization Operations. This executive-level role is pivotal in providing operational, financial, compliance, and governance leadership for the College's direct support organizations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the separate legal identities and independent governance of these organizations while implementing a coordinated shared-services model to enhance efficiency, accountability, and sustainability. Key duties include overseeing financial administration, audits, tax reporting, compliance, board support, risk management, and operational services. The role demands a strategic and collaborative leader who can work closely with College and DSO leadership, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to strengthen internal controls, improve operational effectiveness, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Applicants for the Associate Vice President position at the company should hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred, and must have an active Florida Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. The role requires a candidate with CPA-level expertise in multi-entity accounting, audits, Form 990 coordination, and a strong background in nonprofit financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial and compliance support, including experience with restricted fund accounting and a thorough understanding of IRS Form 990 requirements. Strong leadership, supervisory, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build collaborative relationships with executive leadership, legal counsel, and governing boards. Experience in charter school or charter authorizer finance and compliance, as well as a background in supporting nonprofit or direct support organization boards, is highly desirable.
