Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. The role will involve managing projects across the full lifecycle, including scope definition, design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards, while maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction and operational performance.


Key responsibilities will include preparing and managing project programmes, budgets, risk registers and delivery plans; coordinating internal teams, consultants, contractors and suppliers; monitoring progress and resolving issues that may affect cost, schedule or quality; and providing clear, regular reports to senior stakeholders. You will oversee contract administration, change control, project documentation and compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental requirements. The role will also require effective communication with clients, regulators, local authorities and other project partners, as well as supporting business development activities and contributing to continuous improvement across project delivery.


Applicants should have proven project management experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering or related infrastructure sectors. A strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment, networks, pumping stations or associated civil and mechanical or electrical works would be advantageous. You will need demonstrable experience managing multidisciplinary projects, budgets and delivery teams, together with knowledge of construction contracts, risk management and health and safety legislation. A relevant degree or professional qualification in engineering, construction, project management or a related discipline is preferred. Excellent organisational, commercial, communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and build effective working relationships. Relevant professional accreditation or chartership would be desirable.
