Finance Manager, Amazon Freight Less-than-Truckload

This is an exciting opportunity to create and innovate on behalf of our customers and build the transportation experience of the future. This role will have heavy impact and high visibility to the long-term strategy for the business, and it will require strong partnership with the Operations teams as well as Finance, Accounting and Technology. The role will require an individual to deep dive into business input drivers, dive into complex data pool, and use insights to influence business decisions. The role is ideally suited for a candidate who has demonstrated an exceptional financial modeling and statistical analysis and strong verbal and written skills. If you like taking a larger scope identifying the most cost effective and safest way to deliver to our customer you will enjoy transportation. This entire system has to move like a symphony and it has to be orchestrated. It is an incredible math problem that we have to solve; we have to put statistics and financial models behind it. In this role you will have a high level of visibility and partner with cross functional teams. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity to improve and create new measures for business effectiveness, innovate creative solutions utilizing large scale data mining tools, and identify high priority projects to maximize results for key stakeholders.Key job responsibilities- Own Shipper level Margin Analysis and partner with Sales, Pricing and other teams to address issues in margin. - Perform the Cost dive deep in partnership with Cost Planning and Execution team and build template to show weekly, monthly and YTD performance including commentary for leadership reviews- Partner with Cross Functional teams on cost allocation and its methodology to ensure accurate financial reporting- Own E2E CAPEX planning for Truck Load and Less-Than Truck Load business through building of ROI, FCF, PBP, and IRR models and supporting the CAR approval. This includes integration of our processes with Central CAPEX Planning team and developing a working model including reviews with senior leaders.- Identify opportunities to resolve defects proactively and improve, scale, or simplify finance tools across teams and organizations.- Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams and partner finance teams to ensure seamless integration of the LTL plan into the overall Worldwide Operations and Amazon Inbound Transportation’s financial plans. Foster strong communication and coordination to drive alignment across the organization.- Have backbone, disagree and commit to foster constructive dialogues, harmonize conflicting views, resolve issues, and drive decisions.Basic qualifications- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)- 3+ years of finance experiencePreferred qualification - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or a CPA and experience or equivalent experience in finance roles- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results- Experience in a finance role including partnering with a variety of stakeholders across the business, or experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)- Experience working with Excel and large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as Python, SQL, or Tableau, or experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MS Power Query, Python)- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving- 5+ years of implementing metric-based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts experienceAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
