Job Summary
Under the direction of the Head Pickleball Professional, the Pickleball Teaching Professional is responsible for instruction for all areas of the pickleball program, including all classes, levels, training, special events, tournaments as well as performing assigned administrative duties for Club Pickle & Padel, a new facility of the Park District of Highland Park.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Essential Job Duties
Minimum high school graduate or equivalent. Certification with the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association "Level 1" Certification or similar preferred. Minimum of 1 year teaching experience with a variety of ability levels of pickleball. Required Skills/Abilities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an indoor office and pickleball/padel play facility and is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions with outdoor court work. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Essential Job Duties
- Teach private and group lessons as assigned in accordance with Park District policies.
- Effectively communicate and demonstrate proper techniques, such as grip, stroke production, serve, footwork and rules.
- Conduct instruction in accordance with the Club's standardized methods and strategies.
- Perform necessary administrative tasks, such as attendance taking, returning messages, and general correspondence with patrons and co-workers.
- Discretely work through differences with fellow teaching professionals so as not to create distractions on the court or in front of clientele.
- Arrive in time to start lessons punctually and allow enough time to fully complete the lesson and cleanup as scheduled.
- Assist with summer camp programming.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of lesson pickleball programs, classes, levels, training, tournaments and special events.
- Manage the proper placement of students in class levels based on skill level.
- Complete timesheet daily by accurately inputting privates/groups/drop-in and administrative hours.
- Participate and contribute to periodic staff meetings and professional development training.
- Recruit participants for programming
- Keep administrative staff apprised of any key issues, class assignment changes, and other significant developments in a timely fashion.
- Solicit feedback and actively listen to others.
- Make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Conduct all work in a safe manner, including using personal protective equipment and safety devices as required. Identify and report any safety hazards.
- Attend all Park District required trainings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Certification with International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) preferred.
- Valid IL Driver's License
- American Red Cross CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to teach all levels of pickleball.
- Ability to communicate and maintain patience in a teaching setting.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
