Lead Low Voltage Cable Technician

Location: Nashville, TN

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

About the Opportunity

TEKsystems is actively seeking experienced Lead Low Voltage Cable Technicians to support a growing portfolio of commercial cabling projects throughout the Nashville area. We are looking for self-sufficient technicians who can take ownership of their work, operate independently, and deliver high-quality installations with minimal supervision.

This is an excellent opportunity for technicians who enjoy working in the field, reading blueprints, building infrastructure, and contributing to large-scale cabling projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, route, terminate, and test low-voltage systems

• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and construction drawings

• Build and install cable pathways, including cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, and other support systems

• Pull and label copper and fiber cabling

• Perform punch-downs, terminations, and testing

• Complete rack-and-stack installations and equipment mounting

• Maintain a clean and safe job site while adhering to OSHA standards

• Work independently to complete assigned scopes of work and meet project deadlines

• Collaborate with project teams and customers when necessary

Required Qualifications

• Experience installing structured cabling and low-voltage systems

• Ability to read and work from blueprints independently

• Strong knowledge of cable pathway installation

• Ability to work with little to no supervision throughout the workday

• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• Must have your own hand tools

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Preferred Qualifications

• Punch-down and termination experience

• Rack-and-stack experience

• Fiber optic cabling experience

• Commercial construction or data center experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Vergne, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
