If that sounds like an organization you want to be a part of, we would love to have you!The Pediatrics Physician works to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare (NHC) by providing excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment. This role will provide comprehensive medical services to pediatric patients. In addition, this role will educate and promote healthy choices to parents and their children.Schedule4 days a week, Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (32 hour week)Responsibilities:Direct Patient CareReviews patient records, including allergies, problems, medications, and immunization statusesElicits and documents information about patient's medical historyExamines symptoms to gather more information about the patient's physical conditionOrders and executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's conditionAnalyzes reports and findings of tests, examinations, and diagnoses to understand the patient's current conditionAdministers or prescribes treatments to patientsDetermines and prescribes medications, dosages, and schedules given patient conditions and allergiesDiscusses possible side effects to medications or immunizations with patients and parentsPrescribes and administers vaccinations to immunize patients from communicable diseasesPromotes health by advising patients and parents about diets, hygiene, and methods for prevention of diseasePerforms surgical procedures corresponding to surgical competenciesRefers patients to medical specialists for consultant services for patients' well-being, as neededDocuments patient visits, including medical histories, physical exams, diagnoses, and plans of actionFollows up with patients regarding progress in high risk or emergency casesConducts physical examinations to patients for information needed for admission to schools, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverageProvider and Team SupportShares accountability for overall patient health outcomes by working in coordination with care teamsOperates to instill confidence in our care and in our facilities to patients, fellow employees, and other stakeholdersAssesses training needs and promotes developmental activities for the teamCustomer RelationsMaintains professional working relationships with all levels of staff, clients, and the publicCooperates in accomplishing department goals and objectivesEducation/Experience:Doctorate in medicine is requiredActive California Medical license in good standing is requiredCurrent CA DEA licensure is required and is to be maintained as a condition of employmentCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an American Heart Association (AHA)-approved source is required upon hire and must be maintained as a condition of employment. AHA-approved courses include an in-person, hands-on skills check with a certified instructor using a mannequin to demonstrate CPR and emergency response techniques. While this range represents the broader classification of the role, actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to: the candidate's overall knowledge, skills, and experience, market data and industry benchmarks, internal equity within the organization, Budgetary considerations and organizational needs.
