Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Location:   Wheaton, IL 
Work Setting:  In office- one day a week

Blue Kite Wellness is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to practice with a high degree of clinical autonomy while collaborating with therapists and other behavioral health professionals to provide comprehensive psychiatric care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on each client's needs.
• Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with evidence-based practice and applicable laws.
• Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric follow-up appointments.
• Collaborate with therapists, clinical staff, and other healthcare providers to coordinate client care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Complete required documentation in accordance with Blue Kite Wellness policies and applicable regulatory standards.
• Participate in clinical meetings and consultation as appropriate.
• Maintain all required licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements.

 

Qualifications

• Current Illinois licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Full Practice Authority in the State of Illinois.
• Current DEA registration and Illinois controlled substance license (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team.
• Preferred experience treating children, adolescents, and children.
• Preferred experience in an outpatient behavioral health setting.

 

Schedule Requirements 

This is a part-time, in-person position based in our Wheaton, Illinois office. The selected candidate will work one full day per week (approximately 8 hours), with a typical schedule of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM. This role is currently limited to one in-office day per week, with the opportunity for additional hours as the practice continues to grow.

Compensation 

$75.00-$85.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
