Cook – Assisted Living Community

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Cook to join our Assisted Living team. The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals for residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with seniors and be committed to providing excellent customer service and quality meals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to planned menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure food is prepared in accordance with sanitation and food safety regulations.
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and temperature logs.
• Follow physician-ordered diets and special dietary restrictions as directed.
• Assist with meal planning and food ordering as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, work areas, and dining areas.
• Wash dishes and assist with kitchen sanitation duties.
• Monitor inventory and notify supervisor of needed supplies.
• Work cooperatively with caregivers, nursing staff, and management.
• Ensure residents are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience preferred, especially in healthcare, long-term care, or assisted living.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality required.
• Must successfully complete background check requirements in accordance with Ohio regulations.
• ServSafe certification preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and walking.

Schedule

• Full-Time / Part-Time positions available
• Weekend and holiday rotation may be required
