CT Technologist

Job Summary:


The Radiology/Cardiology CT Technologist is responsible for performing advanced diagnostic imaging procedures using CT scanners, primarily in acute care and level 3 trauma facility settings. The role requires expertise in operating GE scanners, direct patient care, and proficiency with Epic electronic health records. The CT Tech will provide high-quality imaging services to support accurate diagnosis and treatment, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This position involves floating between units and working in a fast-paced hospital environment with a focus on acute care patients.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CT imaging equipment, specifically GE scanners, to perform diagnostic radiologic procedures.
• Provide direct patient care during imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures using the Epic electronic health record system.
• Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards in an acute care and trauma environment.
• Float between different units as required to meet departmental needs.
• Participate in quality assurance and equipment maintenance activities.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Experience operating GE CT scanners in an acute care or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
• Minimum of one year direct patient care experience within the last year.
• Experience working in a Level 3 trauma facility.
• Travel experience as a CT Technologist.
• Relevant radiologic technologist certification and licensure as required by state regulations.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Additional certifications in cardiology or advanced CT imaging techniques.
• Experience with other hospital imaging modalities and cross-training.
• Advanced training in trauma imaging protocols.

Special Considerations:

• Weekend work is required, including one Saturday overnight shift.
• No on-call or block schedules required.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced acute care and trauma hospital environment.
• Strict adherence to hospital policies and Epic documentation standards.
• Floating between units as needed.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule includes weekends with one Saturday overnight shift.
• Shifts are assigned without block scheduling.
• Typical shift pattern to support 1:1 patient ratios during imaging procedures.
