Sterile Processing Instrument Technician - Morning Shift

Location: Mercy Hospital - Oklahoma City (W Memorial Rd) Shift: Full Time (40 hours/week) Schedule: Morning Shift (6a-2:30p) Monday-Friday with occasional weekend rotation Overview The Sterile Processing Instrument Technician, under general supervision follows robust processes in decontamination, processing and sterilization by cleaning instruments and equipment ensuring that all items are free of any bioburden, inspecting, function testing and assembling instruments and equipment for high level disinfection or sterilization. The technician always follows the manufacturer's instructions for use in decontamination, processing, high level disinfection & sterilization as well as department and hospital processes and policies. The instrument technician must accurately maintain the required documentation on written logs and/or computer systems, documenting process steps and equipment status. The technician prioritizes instrumentation for processing, answers telephones, dispatches instrumentation, equipment, and supplies, and performs duties consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and service standards. Additional duties are performed as assigned. Qualifications High‑school graduate or equivalent Basic computer skills Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) Must interact with staff and co‑workers across a diverse range of disciplines Must follow directions Must operate equipment Physical Demands Frequent lifting (high/mid/low) of items weighing around 25 pounds and frequent hand coordination.
