Summary

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to The Bowling Center on Travis Airforce Base, CA.

Work Schedule: Intermittent (Flexible) employees have no guaranteed hours but may work up to 40 hours per week.

Physical Effort: Handles objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Eligible to use base facilities such as: Base Exchange (BX), Gym, Outdoor Rec, Library, Marina, Golf Course, Bowling Center and The Arts & Crafts Center.

Duties

Help

  • Performs standby service on automatic pinsetters, correcting pin jams and minor malfunctions. Records stops in log.
  • Advises bowling facility management of unusual maintenance problems to keep down time to a minimum.
  • Follows regular preventive maintenance and cleaning schedules. Replacing damaged pins as necessary.
  • Keeps pit and other work areas neat and clean at all times.
  • Plugs and refinishes bowling balls as instructed.
  • Performs simple repair assignments according to detailed instructions.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

No prior training or work experience is required. Must be able to use, control and clean common hand tools, and simple power equipment.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
