About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Supervisor Profession: Nursing Specialty: Scrub Technologist Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years License: High School Diploma or Equivalent Certifications: Certified Registered Central Service Technician, CER - Certified Endoscope Reprocessor Must-Have: - 2 years of management or supervisory experience - Bachelor’s Degree in science or a related field preferred - Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred - Current CIS Certified Instrument Specialist preferred - 2 years of healthcare experience in Surgical Services and/or Sterile Processing preferred Description: The Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, organizing, monitoring, and staffing departmental services, ensuring compliance with policies and objectives. Supervises and coordinates all resources and services of the Sterile Processing Department. Responsibilities include administrative duties, human resource management, direct supervision of staff, financial management, purchasing, regulatory compliance, and quality monitoring. Develops and implements policies, procedures, training, and competencies for team members in collaboration with relevant coordinators. Maintains communications and relationships with all departments and customers. Demonstrates excellent customer service and coordinates services effectively. In addition to the essential functions, employees must complete all required education assigned per regulatory requirements and organizational policy. Assists department leadership with operations to ensure comprehensive departmental services according to regulatory expectations. Ensures a collaborative approach to long-range strategic planning and development of organizational policies. Coordinates and oversees the organization-wide departmental services. Continuously assesses, measures, and improves departmental performance. Manages all departmental resources responsibly. Demonstrates clinical, technical, and managerial competency. Ensures staff professional needs are met. Leads, teaches, inspires, and consistently demonstrates organizational behavioral standards. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong leadership and managerial skills; ability to plan, delegate, monitor, and improve work performance. Ability to work varied shifts as required. This role requires regular and sustained attendance. It may involve working beyond a standard work week, including weekends and on-call work to respond to organizational needs. Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds, standing, and walking are required. May involve occasional climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder level. Continuous fine-finger movements, close visual acuity, and cognitive skills are necessary for completing tasks and making decisions. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and infectious diseases may occur due to the nature of work in healthcare settings.
