Service Writer

Job Description We are looking for a Service Writer to support our in-house mechanic shop and keep our fleet running smoothly. This role is critical in coordinating repairs, tracking maintenance, and ensuring our drivers and equipment are always ready to go. Responsibilities: Open, update, and close repair orders for company vehicles. Communicate service needs between drivers, management, and mechanics. Maintain accurate service logs, work orders, and parts records. Schedule preventative maintenance and track upcoming service intervals. Provide cost estimates for parts and repairs and get approval before work begins. Ensure timely turnaround of vehicles to minimize downtime. Qualifications: Experience as a Service Writer, Fleet Service Coordinator, or similar role preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance, DOT requirements, and repair processes is a plus. Computer proficiency and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced shop environment.
