Clinical Nurse - Perioperative Care

Location

Tuba City, AZ

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, 4 shifts per week, plus on call.

Job Description

The Clinical Nurse will provide care for perioperative patients, utilizing the nursing process which includes assessment, nursing diagnoses, intervention planning, and evaluation of interventions based on patient outcomes. As an Operating Room clinical nurse, you will be expected to circulate in various specialty areas, including Orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Dental. Obtaining scrubbing experience is strongly encouraged. You may also be required to work varied and odd hours when on call and prepare for emergency cases on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to perioperative patients.
• Circulate in multiple surgical specialties as required.
• Assess patient needs and develop individual care plans.
• Evaluate patient responses and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Prepare for and respond to emergency cases.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A valid, current RN license from any state in the USA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association within six (6) months of hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification must be completed within six (6) months of hire.
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification must be obtained within one (1) year of hire.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification must be acquired within two (2) years of hire.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Two (2) years of clinical nursing and/or operating room practical experience.
