Senior Accountant - Construction Industry in Overland Park

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant for a growing construction company in Johnson County. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the strategic growth and operational efficiency of a dynamic construction firm with the possibility of great advancement. Duties Collaborate closely with the Controller to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Monitor all costs (materials, labor, subcontractor) to ensure accurate, up-to-date inputs for the Percentage of Completion (POC) calculation. Generate Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports. Monitor subcontractor contracts, manage lien waivers, and ensure compliance with tax and industry regulations. Work closely with Project Managers on keeping the projects on budget. Perform accounting duties such as preparing invoices, estimating cash flow, and signing off on purchase orders. Qualifications A bachelor's Degree in Accounting is a must. 5+ years of experience in construction accounting is a must. Proficiency in accounting software, including Foundation, SAGE300, Viewpoint and other financial management tools. Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
