Safety Specialist

CJSeto Support Services, LLC (CJSeto) is looking for a proactive Safety Specialist to provide safety leadership and oversight throughout the full lifecycle of retrofit projects—from initial planning and design through construction, and ongoing operation. This is an opportunity to provide a hands-on role in shaping how projects are planned and executed safely. You'll work alongside project managers, engineers, contractors, and operations teams to identify risks early, develop practical safety strategies, and help ensure safety remains a priority at every stage.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support the development of project-specific safety plans, procedures, and risk assessments.
• Identify potential hazards and recommend practical controls.
• Provide safety oversight.
• Conduct field observations, inspections, audits, and jobsite safety reviews.
• Partner with contractors and project teams to promote safe work practices and resolve safety concerns.
• Review and/or develop work plans, permits, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and other safety documentation.
• Support and/or conduct incident and near-miss investigations, corrective actions, and lessons-learned activities.
• Help ensure compliance with applicable OSHA requirements, company standards, and project-specific safety requirements.
• Participate in pre-job meetings, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and contractor coordination activities.
• Support the transition from construction to safe, reliable ongoing operation.
• Serve as a visible safety resource and advocate for continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in construction, industrial, manufacturing, facilities, or another safety-sensitive environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard identification, risk assessment, and safe work practices.
• Experience supporting projects through multiple phases, ideally including planning, construction, and operations.
• Strong field presence and the ability to engage effectively with both craft personnel and project leadership.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to identify risks, challenge unsafe conditions respectfully, and develop practical solutions.
• Relevant safety certification or credential (such as CIH, CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent) is preferred.
