Job Description

Teacher of Record (TOR) – Remote | Part-Time | Contract

Pay: $30/hour, paid every two weeks

At Subject.com, we partner with schools nationwide to deliver engaging, accredited, video-first courses. Our partner network is growing, and we’re looking for certified teachers to serve as Teachers of Record (TORs) for students in our online courses.

Subject Areas:

• English Language Arts, including certification with Science of Reading background
\n
• Science (including Earth & space and physical sciences)
\n
• Math
\n
• Computer Science
\n
• Social Studies
\n
• Health & Physical Education
\n
• World Languages, including French and Spanish
\n
• Career & Technical Education (including agriculture)
\n

As a TOR, you will:

\n
• Monitor student progress and pacing in our online courses
\n
• Review and audit grades, and give students clear, actionable feedback
\n
• Send regular check-ins and encouragement to keep students on track
\n
• Support academic integrity and course completion
\n
• Follow state- and district-specific policies for grading, retakes and accommodations
\n
• Work with our curriculum and program teams
\n

All work is asynchronous. There are no live classes, no lesson planning, and no curriculum to write.

✅ Requirements:

\n
• Active teaching certification in at least one U.S. state
\n
• Comfort with online platforms and strong written communication
\n
• Willingness to add licensure in additional states (we’ll support you through it)
\n
• For CTE roles: industry experience in the pathway area is a plus
\n
