Job Description
Job Title: X-Ray Technician

Description:
The department has two designated rooms for X-Ray, one for inpatient and another for outpatient.
There are also two portable machines available.
Imaging services are provided in both inpatient and outpatient areas as required.
The hospital site completes both non-contrast and contrast studies based on physician availability.
Average patient volume daily from Monday to Friday is between 25-32 between both sites.
The outpatient center handles 11-14 non-contrast studies.
The Saturday shift operates from 6:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Technologists will manage both scheduled outpatient and any inpatient orders.
Full-time positions will include coverage of Saturday shifts, which are rotational.
Shifts at the hospital are from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
All shifts are rotational; no emergency call required.
A radiation badge is required and must be provided by the agency.
Registered nurses must hold BLS and ACLS certifications.
The electronic medical record system is currently Cerner, with a transition to Epic underway.
The department is equipped with PACS technology.
There is a supervisor for each area; there are no lead technologists.
Radiologists are available on-site from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the week.
Technologists are not required to start IVs.
There is a requirement for rotating on-call shifts and weekends, with a response time of 30 minutes.
Scrub color is light grey.
Department-specific orientation will be customized based on individual traveler needs.
The team conducts over 200 scans/studies daily across all age groups.
Cancellations are allowed for a limited number of shifts during assignments.
