Position Overview:
Ready to make an impact on the future of rail transportation? Siemens Mobility is seeking an experienced Overhaul Project Manager to join our Customer Services team in Lexington, NC. In this high-visibility role, you will lead complex Rolling Stock Overhaul Programs from planning through execution, ensuring critical maintenance and modernization activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Working cross-functionally with operations, engineering, logistics, quality, and customer stakeholders, you will drive program performance, optimize overhaul processes, and help maximize fleet reliability and availability.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Lead the Rolling Stock overhaul program in alignment with the maintenance regime to ensure fleet work is delivered on schedule, within budget, and in support of service targets.
- Develop and maintain required overhaul documentation to provide clear project structure, execution guidance, and contractual support throughout the program.
- Coordinate facility readiness, fleet availability, staffing, and customer alignment to ensure the Lexington maintenance facility can execute overhaul activities efficiently and on time.
- Partner with material logistics, customers, and internal teams to ensure parts, resources, and processes are in place to support uninterrupted maintenance and overhaul operations.
- Monitor work progress, financial performance, risks, configuration management, continuous improvement opportunities, and quality plan execution to drive program performance and compliance.
This posting outlines the primary responsibilities of the role, but is not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned in alignment with business needs.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- Bachelor’s degree, or a combination of education and Siemens-relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience supporting or leading negotiations for major contracts, including working with suppliers and commercially sensitive issues; engineering or rail sector experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of rolling stock or comparable industry maintenance techniques, processes, procedures, and related planning or maintenance management systems such as SAP or Maximo.
- Knowledge of Lean Management and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities while supporting customer availability targets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel domestically approximately 25%.
Candidates should be willing to work in non-climate-controlled environments and inclement weather if required or if applicable.
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
Purpose is the reason a company exists. It's not about making money or selling products - it's the deeper "why" behind everything we do. It answers the question: What problem are we solving? What positive change are we creating?
For Siemens, our purpose has been clear for over 175 years: We create technology to transform the everyday, for everyone.
The world needs technologies that work. Technologies that matter. Technologies that solve today's challenges and help shape a better tomorrow. And that's exactly what we build. By bringing together the real world (factories, buildings, power grids, trains) with the digital world (software, data, AI, digital twins), we help our customers become more competitive, resilient, and sustainable.
Our technology is everywhere - in trains and transportation, we help move people faster, safer, and more sustainably.
