Job Title: Stand-Up Forklift Warehouse Associate Job Description

This role focuses on safely operating a stand-up forklift to load and unload kegs and other beverage products, accurately manage inventory using RF scanners and warehouse management systems, and support shipping and receiving activities in a fast-paced, climate-controlled beverage distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a stand-up forklift to load and unload new and used kegs when trucks arrive.

• Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems such as WMS and SAP to locate, move, and track inventory accurately.

• Receive bin numbers and locate beer pallets in refrigerated areas, ensuring products are handled and stored correctly.

• Load and unload shipping trucks in a timely and efficient manner.

• Prepare packages for shipping, including staging, labeling, and organizing outbound orders.

• Move cases and maneuver kegs in the stockroom and warehouse while following safe lifting and handling practices.

• Remain solution-oriented when locating and moving materials, troubleshooting inventory or location issues as they arise.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment during downtime, including general housekeeping tasks.

• Support inventory activities by accurately counting, recording, and verifying products as needed.

• Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines for equipment use and product handling.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of warehouse experience.

• Previous stand-up forklift experience, with ability to operate safely in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to use RF scanners and work with warehouse management systems such as WMS and SAP.

• Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.

• Ability to lift cases up to 35 lbs and maneuver kegs up to 170 lbs safely.

• Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset for locating and moving materials correctly.

• Ability to work effectively on 2nd or 3rd shift schedules.

• Must be at least 21 years old to work onsite.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in food and beverage warehousing or distribution is preferred.

• Forklift experience is preferred; onsite certification will be provided.

• Comfort working in refrigerated areas to retrieve product and cases.

• Experience with inventory control processes such as loading, unloading, and stock rotation.

• Attention to detail and reliability in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled warehouse and brewery setting, with regular access to refrigerated areas to retrieve product and cases. The facility is described as beautiful and well-kept, with a focus on cleanliness and organization. Work is performed on 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday) or 3rd shift (11:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday) in the Richmond, VA area. The pace is very fast, requiring consistent attention to safety, accuracy, and productivity while operating stand-up forklifts and handling kegs and cases.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sandston, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
