Service Engineer – Hydraulic & Mechanical Are you driven by problem solving? Do you thrive working with complex and large equipment? MacGregor is looking to hire a Service Engineer with hydraulic and mechanical competence. This hands‑on expert will perform repair, maintenance and service on critical marine equipment, including shipboard cranes, hatch covers, and deck machinery. More Tasks and Responsibilities Diagnostics and troubleshooting of hydraulic and mechanical equipment Supervise and perform refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective actions Identify service and spares sales opportunities and communicate them to the line manager Support overall service goals and budgets Prepare detailed service reports and documentation for all work performed Ensure that all activities comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS), QHSE and other MacGregor standards Reporting directly to the Operations Superintendent, Operations Americas and North Sea. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Norfolk, Virginia. What You’ll Need to Succeed You have a background in the merchant, offshore, naval or maritime industry, with a primary focus on hydraulic and mechanical equipment. Knowledge and experience in basic electronics are a plus.
