Senior Cost Accountant

Location: Maryland, on-site Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday Build People is representing a global, family-owned manufacturer with over a century of operating history in the US and distribution worldwide. They are hiring a Senior Cost Accountant to own cost accounting methods, reporting and analysis across the business. What You Will Do Conduct cost analysis to identify and evaluate cost saving opportunities Analyze production costs, variances and performance against targets Partner with cross functional teams on budgets and forecasts Monitor and report on variances with clear explanations and recommendations Prepare timely and accurate cost accounting reports, and present findings and KPIs to management Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation Identify and implement process improvements across the cost accounting function Ensure compliance with accounting standards and support internal and external audits Develop cost estimates for new products and evaluate the profitability impact of cost changes Work with operations and procurement to gather information and provide financial insight for decision making What We Are Looking For Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field 4 to 7 years of progressive cost accounting experience, ideally including a senior role Strong grounding in accounting principles and cost accounting methodology Proficient in standard costing, inventory valuation and variance analysis Advanced Excel, plus experience with an ERP or accounting system Manufacturing or multi entity experience preferred Comfortable working independently and as part of a team What Is On Offer Medical, dental and vision cover for you and your family Bonus programs 401K retirement plan Tuition reimbursement and training Paid vacation, PTO and holidays Gym reimbursement and more Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
