You will be the first point of contact for patients, offering them not only the critical logistical support needed to navigate their care but also a compassionate, welcoming presence during what can often be stressful times. In this role, you can make a lasting impact on individuals and families in your community, helping them access and navigate the health services they deserve.Location: United Hospital - Saint Paul, MNHours: Per DiemSchedule: Minimum 1 shift per week requiredPrimary Responsibilities:Greets and welcomes patients in person, providing a friendly and supportive first impression while directing them to their appointments and proceduresCollects and verifies demographic, insurance, and benefits information, interpreting results and obtaining necessary signaturesChecks in and interviews patients to complete the required paperwork, including financial assistance applications and requests for information formsObtains and explains cost information to patients, collects co-pays and deductibles, and counsels' patients on available financial assistance programsAddresses and resolves claim issues or registration errors while documenting any issues and resolutions in the electronic medical recordUses resources, tools, and procedures to complete registration for accounts and assigned work queuesProvides customer service for inbound and outbound telephone calls, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of patient inquiriesAssists in scheduling add-on appointments as neededMay mentor other staff, provide technical or functional direction, and gather medical record information as neededOther duties as assigned, supporting the dynamic needs of the healthcare environment with flexibility and a commitment to patient careYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear directions on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:6+ months of customer service experienceIntermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productsAbility to work standard daytime hours, Monday-Friday for the first 3 weeks after hire in alignment with the training scheduleAbility to work on a per diem basisMust be 18 years of age OR olderPreferred Qualifications: Revenue Cycle experienceGeneral office experienceEpic experience Physical Demands:Consistent walking, standing, bending, turning, etc.Lifting weight Up to 10 lbs. occasionally, up to 2-5 lbs. frequentlyPLEASE NOTE The sign-on bonus is only available to external candidates. The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
