Role Description The Demolition Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles, CA. This role is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for demolition and environmental abatement projects by reviewing plans, specifications, and site conditions. Day-to-day tasks include performing quantity takeoffs, evaluating labor, equipment, and material costs, and requesting and analyzing subcontractor and vendor quotes. The Demolition Estimator partners with project managers and field supervisors to develop accurate scopes of work, schedules, and bid proposals, while identifying risks and value‑engineering opportunities. The role also involves participating in client meetings, responding to bid inquiries, maintaining estimating databases, and supporting handoff to operations once projects are awarded. Qualifications Experience in demolition, construction, or environmental abatement estimating, including interpreting drawings, specifications, and site reports. Strong analytical and numerical skills, with proficiency in quantity takeoffs, cost breakdowns, and use of estimating or spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel, estimating platforms). Knowledge of demolition means and methods, equipment types, productivity rates, and basic structural and building systems. Understanding of environmental abatement practices, hazardous materials handling, and relevant regulations (e.g., asbestos, lead, mold) is highly beneficial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear proposals and collaborate with project teams, clients, and vendors. Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to safety, ethical conduct, and accuracy in all estimates. Proficiency with basic office software (Word, Excel, email) and willingness to learn company‑specific estimating tools and processes. Previous field experience in demolition, construction, or environmental services is a plus.
