The Forklift Operator will play an important role in supporting daily production operations by safely operating forklifts to move, stack, and organize lumber products throughout the facility. You’ll help maintain an efficient workflow by loading and unloading materials, staging products, and ensuring lumber is handled safely and accurately.

Schedule:  This is a full-time position. Overtime, weekends, and schedule flexibility may be required based on production needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move lumber, materials, and products throughout the facility using forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Safely stack and organize materials to support production and storage needs.
• Transport materials between production areas, storage locations, and shipping areas.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation for material movement.
• Inspect forklifts and report equipment or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Operate equipment safely to prevent damage to products and materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Experienced forklift driver and must be able to pass certification.
• Must have good written and verbal skills.
• Must be able to follow basic directions.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Will wear safety glasses as required.
• Attends and participates in departmental and company safety meetings.
• Assists in maintaining an accident free environment by working safely and helping others to work safely.
• Ability to work in a safe manner
• Demonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directions
• Demonstrate ability to use and operate hand tools
• Ability to pay attention to surroundings

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
This position works in an industrial sawmill environment with exposure to noise, sawdust, moving equipment, lumber, forklifts, weather conditions, and varying temperatures. The employee may be required to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, bend, twist, push, pull, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
